Great! Stupid Question?

Nothing will break, the front axles and all will be turning, but won't power the front wheels without the hubs locked in.

Saaaaweeet! :P So when would this be used? Seems impractical for hauling anything lol

(Dont mean to thread-jack)

I mainly use 2 low when I'm stuck in traffic and first gear is too fast...

I use it pulling wagons full of wood/hay that weigh around a ton. About 500 feet from the barn to the shop on dry road so i don't want 4wd. Then if the grounds dry i just keep it in 2lo driving around the farm.

i like "2L" for backing trailers and pulling up out of a boat ramp. ive also used when going through town with a really heavily loaded trailer, felt like i was driving a semi going through 4 gears between stoplights, came in handy from a standing start on a uphill grade at a stoplight as well.

You would use 2 low anytime you want the low range but are on dry pavement. My brother sells a lot of transfer cases to people who have used 4 wd on dry pavement.
