as some of you know ive had some recent problems with my current graphics card. my moms complaining about the comp crashing every time she goes to tagged. so my solution.

XFX NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT PCI Express 1GB DDR2 Graphics Card.

its 65 bucks at walmart. has any one had any experience with this? the current card i have somehow plays all the cod series, rigs of rods, the sims, everything i can throw at it and im just wondering if this will do the same?

im assuming this will do much better

my current card is an ati radeon hd 3200

I have the Nvidia 9800XT...Runs COD just fine, and my Flight Simulator 2004 at 45 FPS....

The Nvidia 9500 series cards are extremely outdated. Look for at least a 9800 series card.

Don't buy any card from Wal-Mart. Get a better one from www.tigerdirect.com or www.newegg.com for the same price or cheaper.

The 9500's were technologically similar to the 8600's, so yea - old as dirt. The 9800's aren't any newer since after 9xxx series came GTX 2xx series, then GTX 3xx series, and they're up to GTX 4xx series. A decent bang for the buck card would be something like a GTS 250 or a Radeon HD 4xxx or HD 5xxx. They'll nearly all be GDDR5, they'll all be PCI Express 2.0, and they can all be had for under $100 easy. The biggest question is what type of power supply you have, since many newer cards require a 6pin plug (or more) even in a midlevel card.

I picked up a evga 9500gt 1gb for 30 bucks off cl. It is far from a gaming card.

Im running it currently and you have to turn everything on low for most new games and it still gets choppy sometimes. E8650 3ghzx2 w/ 4gb ram.

Its a great cheap card but if you want do do any kind of gaming get a used 8800gtx or a 9800gt.

i can play dead rising 2, nfs hot pursuit, fallout new vegas with playable framerates but that with all the settings on low.

You will like it...Just make sure you update your vid drivers after getting it. I installed new drivers and got about 10-20 more FPS in Aquamark Benchmark.

Actually they are up to the GTX 5xx series, time flies in the technology world lol.

i order a 9800 series card from tigerdirect

good choice, i just picked up a evga 9800gtx+ yesterday in trade for my 9500gt and an old antec 350w power supply. This card is great even for being older and 512mb, it can play any game i have on the highest settings.

it has dual dvi, i just use a dvi-hdmi adapter and it works great, you just have to hook up the spdif cable to the card and the mobo to get audio passthru.

If you planning on gaming id look at other cards than the ones you listed. 9800s and 260s are getting cheaper and cheaper now.

I don't game, I just want to watch Netflix through my computer via HDMI. My gaming days are long gone.

then either one would work just fine for that, the second card you linked has much better specs and is a lot faster.
