if replacing them doesn't help you can also check the connector to the rear lights...that's usually near the back of your truck underneath...see if it's connected properly and if it is disconnect it and check the connector pins for rust or corrosion...good idea to put some dielectic grease on the connector if it hasn't been done for a while...
And if that doesn't help you can also check the fuse panel...swap in a replacment fuse...about the only things that can actually go wrong with lights...
quite possibly a faulty t/s switch. I have seen this before- it also caused the abs lamp to illuminate because there was no brake lamp circuit for the system to read.
