Got my seats and my console :)

Just ventured to the Pick n Pull in Tallahassee for the first time, I IMMEDIATELY found an Escort GT with (considerabley) perfect seats. No tears, cig burns, stains. Just a little dirty and I need to clean the sliders. I was excited about this find. Also looked FOREVER for an Explorer center console that wasnt full length. I looked through 16 Explorers/Mountaineers and EVERY single one had full length. One had the right console, err, half a console. Finally found one with a complete console in relatively good condition. Armrest is in great shape. Total cost- about $105.

I'd rather have an Escort than a Civic all day long.

Originally I was gonna look for some Mustang foxbody seats, but they only had one foxbody that I could find and the seats were damaged, and imo, not as nice as the Escort GT seats.

Tommorow I'm gonna do some cleaning and make 'em look real nice.

The console is what pissed me off, because EVERY damn one I found had the wrong console. I can't believe I found everything in this good a shape my first trip out.

What's they charge you for console itself? My last yard tried to get 50 for console alone so I Toldem f off.

Pick n Pull has set prices for every item. Each seat was 38 i think so the console was about 30.

I got home right as it turned dark. I'm gonna clean up the console and seats tommorow and take plenty of pics.

I was gonna do more work on them today but wound up going to bed extremely late and woke up extremely late, so I just took the old slider brackets offthe GT seats lol.

The passenger side one was a bitch to get the sliders down/up so I could reach the bolts holding them to the seat.

Omg I'm taking power mountaineer seats dark grey, love the color don't care about cracks but omg... They put one seat all the way forward and other all the way back. Passenger seat I am about to take out waiting on junk yard. Plus got some cords to rip out I forgot, so I can have the POWER! How are your seats comfort wise? These seats alone made my ride 10x softer. It's like getting a new suspension lol.

you didnt get an arm rest with youre console? thats what took me the longest to find when i was doing my set up, i already had the cast aluminum bracket that mounts to the floor but finding an arm rest in good condition was almost impossible! nice score on the seats, i like those halo head rests alot! heres a pic of my escort seats

Zx2 seats are soooo uncomfortable!

Anyway, I had the same problem with my center console. Took me FOREVER to find a shorty that wasn't missing an arm rest or ripped up.

Here's my setup with 01 Explorer Sport seats.

I'm yet to get a photo with the console mounted. I'm working on blacking out my interior so it's gonna have to wait.

so... if that is the half console, what's the full one? lol the one that continues from the dash? all the first gens should have that console.

this has me thinking i want zx2 seats.

No, I have an armrest for mine and it's complete, even has the two trays that go in the storage bin. Whne I said "half a console" I mean I found a short console missing half it's parts.

I havent got them mounted in anything, but I like the comfort fo the seats just fine, probably not THE most comfortable seats I could fo gotten, but at least as good or better than stock.

The Zx2 seats come in leather too, just so you know. Rare, but they exist.

I would of liked some ZX2 seats, but i like the look of the Escort GT seats and I just so happened to stumble accross the pair I found as soon as I got to the Ford section at Pick n Pull so I jumped on them.

Now I'm just sad that I gotta wait til I get a project truck to use them. gonna have to toss them in storage.
