Hey Guys,
I'm still a new guy here.I've posted a few questions and have recieved great responses.I'm sure this was basic stuff to the Ranger Veterans, but to this new guy it's all new.
Well I went out to look at the truck today,Had a no-start condition, so I broke out the Haynes manual and started to trace wires to and from the EEC.I ended up finding only a couple of corroded pins on the Fuel pump relay and the EEC power relay.I cleaned them up then I started to get an ignition spark,so I tried to start and...Nope wouldn't start so I hot wired the fuel pump wires at the inertia switch. The thing fired up Most Ricky Tic.It must have a vaccum leak or something because it stalls when I press the brake pedal and it idles up and down. But other than that it runs pretty well.Seems a little high geared for Me ,but the Boy's gonna have to just go with it.So I'll just have to find out why the inertia switch doesn't have any power to it and I'm done.....well until I take it in for a smog check. Then it's on like Donkey Kong with all of the rest of the inevitable mods that naturally follow.
Thanks to those few who took the time to answer simple newbie questions!!
