Got firewood

Booooo. Make it better.

143.2 is a perfectly sufficient number of horsepowers especially when combined with 2.3 miles per gallon.

Dang kids want all these horsepowers and fuel economies!

@85_Ranger4x4 sorry yes I see the Generals now thanks.

245hp and 380ftlbs to be exact.

At 4000rpm and 2500rpm respectivly

Which isnt bad given it was 1979. My 97 460 makes 245 and 410.

It got the job done 40 years ago itll still get the job done today

Yes, but the 8.1L makes like 500 lbft of torque and a near flat line from like 2400rpm to say 4500rpm, right around 400hp in factory trim... it's a great engine as long as you like 8-11mpg :)

454's are simple though, good runners when set up right, an 8.1L is basically the same thing just with bigger ports and a ginormous intake manifold and with coil near plug instead of distributor and simple fuel injection (early OBD II so none of the modern junk other than drive by wire which is fine when it works...)

Got firewood? Yep, because I got a Bronco II !
