got dissed already

There is no hope for MAKG. His ego won't let him be civil.

pot, meet kettle.

Example??? Most of the posts I have seen by you are put-downs(like this one), hateful, condescending, smart alec quips. So you can dust a little "soot" off yourself also.:)shady

It's ironic that you bring up the ego of MAKG there shady. I've argued with you in several threads and it always seems to come down to you telling people they're not old enough to understand. Honestly, you told a 44 year old that he wasn't old enough.

Not to mention you argued against me in a thread after admitting that you hadn't read all of the posts that were in it.

As far as MAKG goes, I think he's one of the most intelligent people on this site and there is no question he knows his stuff. So what if he doesn't have a perfect bedside manner, he isn't taking care of patients. If you don't like the way he comes across then respect him for his knowledge and leave it at that.

:icon_surprised:

What?!?! You sure about that?!?!

I'm trying to remember...I was wrong...once...that would have been when I thought I was wrong...but I wasn't... :dunno:

J/K The staff here at TRS happens to be one of the best groups around. I'm not saying that because I'm on the staff, but because I have met almost everyone of them in person, been wheelin' with them and consider them friends. Hell we have discuusions and arguments between ourselves. We are all individuals with our own opinions trying to do what's best for the site. We don't always agree, but that's what makes it work. There's a check's and balance system and for the most part, we discuss most situations that effect the site. That includes everything from creating new forums, what items get put on the tech pages, events, and yes, even when it's time to swing the "ban hammer" and we have to decide if a member needs to go.

We have never claimed to be perfect...except for me of course...but what we do must work, like it or not. We have kept this site going for almost ten years and even internationaly circulated magazines refer to TRS when it comes to RBV tech. We still try to have fun also. It's a heck of a challange...

If at times the staff seems to be a little short with their answers, sarcastic...think about this...In the last 9+ years I have probally answered the question... " what size of tire will fit on my Ranger" and "what's the best axle for a SAS swap about 3000 times. That's just me. We have about 15 on the staff...

:3gears:

If your always right, then I've been spelling internationally wrong for years!

im sure theres been a time for everyone when his or her ego has gotten in their way at some point or another. nobody likes to be corrected, even if it turns out they really are wrong.

i know im guilty of it.

but we all get over it. we solve the problems that need solving and we move on. and even the people ive personally been in arguements and disputes against (shady :icon_thumby:) still have my respect not only as human beings, but as fellow wrenchers.

You need to throw on some thick skin before you enter a forum. Theres always going to be people who; dont like how you do things, dont agree with you, talk shit to you, diss you, or corrct you. its going to happen if your going to get all butt hurt over it you might as well not log in.

Bob and Mark.

That's enough. You are not bringing problems and trash talking from other sites here. If you want to get into a pissing match, so be it, but take it PM.

I will lock this thread if I see anymore of it.

You both have stated your opinions.

Bob, this is not your thread, you've said your peace...now let it go.

:annoyed:

I think all serious issues should be solved over Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots.

I was thinking flip a coin or Texas Hold 'em

Ase

Not ta yank anybody's chain but I was a BMW tech for 33 years starting in 1970 and when the ASE certs came along they didn't mean much and still don't today (at BMW dealerships anyway).
What makes you valuable to your employer was the factory training, the techs the dealership felt were worth the expense were sent to LA and eventually Orange county Ca. two to three times a year for a five day school.
In the case of "New Model Updates" (1 day school) we were sent to a local dealer like BMW of San Francisco which had teaching facilities.

and then you drop the pan so you can get to the pick up bolts.....

oh crap is this the drama station?i think i posted in the wrong forum...

The way I figure it is that for the amount of knowledge that comes from this forum anyone known as a "Technical Advisor" must know their shit. If you have to put up with a few insults in order to eventually get your problem solved then that sounds like a good deal to me. I don't know MAKG but from his posts that i've seen he seems to give out alot of good information. On the other hand I do know AllanD and truthfully every single piece of advice that he gives comes straight from his head, the guy doesn't need manuals for anything having to do with a RBV. No matter how many crude insults you get you still have to have some sort of profound respect for the person because of the contribution which they give. Sometimes you have to just be the better man and back down, after all it's just the internet.
