Can some one enlighten me as to WHAT version of a Jeep is this? Is this a TJ, a CJ or a Wrangler??????

and what is up with the "square" headlamp comment?

A Yj Wrangler.
They made them from, like 1988(?) to 1997.

Every other Jeep before and after this (not including cherokees and other more road freindly jeeps) had round headlights.

Basically, square headlights are the quickest way to identify a Yj from a Cj or Tj, both of which were heaver built, and better for off roading.

The square headlights are looked down on by some people, because thats when they started softing them up, and loosing there kind of utilitarian "go anyware" feel.

Though I have no idea what Ranger Dave meant.

Not to say these are no good, but there certainly more road friendly than the CJ, and for $300, YOU SUCK!

Thank you, so when you say the Square healighted Jeeps are less "built" is that just the suspension parts?

and I MUST post this...

I'm no expert , but I think they used a softer suspension,
a lighter transmission,
probably lighter axles (not sure about that one),
a little less ground clearence,
the interior was cushyed up,
and I think it was wider.

Over all it was desinged for more use on the road than the Cj.
Think of it this way, If boggers belong on a Cj, all terrains belong on a Yj.

But again, while I don't like them as much, their still great, capable trucks.
There's a lot of them built up and every bit as good as any round light Jeep.
A few people even prefere them over a Cj or Tj.

Oh yeah, that add's great!

well thanks for the info. Super jeep hah! thats what im gonna call it. this jeep rides like a wagon, makes my ranger feel like a crown vic!!!
