Good rc airplane forums? advise

any of you guys into the rc planes? i dug out an enya 45II model 6002 glow plug engine i've had for years and am thinking of selling it.probably from the 80's.its got a perfect condition master airscrew prop (+ or - 9"s long) and nose cone and a perry fuel filter? on an adapter plate.looks to be in good shape.what should it go for? any takers?

ive been a member of rchangout.com since back when it was called RCOnline ('01? '02?)..havnt been active for a few years now though.

its been a long time since ive been in that scene, but if i had to guess...an older .45 enya (thats ball bearing isnt it?) would probably fetch $50-$60.

I just saw a video of a ready to fly foam electric ducted F-4 for 200 bones. Either they doctored the video really well, or that thing was moving along pretty decently.

ducted fans are very quick....of coarse the jets are quicker still.

no i'll be taking my time trolling for a good deal on all the stuff after i make a little test stand,fab a muffler,and get a buddy to help me tune her up.
i've never flown an rc plane,i'de just get rid of it if it was a car engine.

i hear the sig lt 40 is one of the best trainers.flys hands free.thats whats being recommended to me but i'll go with whatevers cheap, and bends back after crashing, lol.i do want to research the engine a little and make sure its sized correctly for the plane,though trainer prolly means slow and manuverable

i can't justify spending much on this until the bug hits,you know how it goes.it should be fun!

if youve never flown before i highly reccomend you find a toutor. very few people realize how complicated and difficult flying an rc plane actually is. most people assume they can take their trainer out and "figure it out" on their own...but ive seen too many trainers burried into the earth this way. there are thousands of little details that newbies often overlook that can doom them from the start.
