Hey guys, I finally went to the junkyard today to retrieve my rims, speakers, and K&N intake system.

It's looking like I won't be in another Ranger, I've narrowed my car buying decision to the 2013 Chevy Camaro V6 or the 2012 Subaru Impreza WRX...

So... here's what I have that I don't need anymore:

4 American Racing 18" Nova Rims, 3 in used condition, 1 brand new
2 General Grabber UHP Tires (2 out of 4 survived the accident)
4 Infinity Reference 6822cf Speakers 5x7's
1 Sony CDX-GT330 Head Unit 55W x 4 Max RMS, has Aux Input
1 K&N Air Intake System for the 3.0L engines
Weather Tech All Weather Floormats, Ford Ranger, Driver and Passenger
1 Reflective Sun Shade custom fit for Ford Ranger Windshield
1 Hurst Short Throw Shifter Kit, INCLUDES HURST's LONGER SHIFTER ARM!

PM me or tell me here if you have any interests in the items above!

The last I saw of my baby....

.... that's just an RBV....

post in classifieds... not general discussion.... sorry about your bad luck.

This was just a general post to tell you guys about everything, was waiting to see comments ranking on my Camaro option. And also comments on the fact my truck still started.

I'll make a separate more detailed thread for the classifieds :icon_thumby:

A 2013 Camaro V6?....:fie:;brownbag;:no2::nono::bad:

i would go wrx cause my buddy just traded in his 06 for a 13 and put 4in pipes and that thing roars along with having get up and go power and if not that go with a 13 dodge charger awd that take power away from the wheel slipping and puts it towards the tires that have traction plus in dash touch screen, heated seats, and all the extras haha they are amazing in the snow cause i drove my aunts up a steep hill that was pure ice and didn't even slide

I have owned and worked on many vehicles from various manufacturers. I try to judge a car more by it's actual performance, longevity, design, and build quality than simply by who manufactured it and when. I will say though, that Chevy has repeatedly left me with bad impressions. It has come to the point that I will not buy anything Chevy has made in the last 25 years, other than a Vette or a Camaro, and even then I would not want a Vette newer than 20 years old or a Camaro much newer. They seem to have good ideas, and build cool stuff, but entirely too often, their execution and build quality is poor. A car can be good by design, but is still no good if it goes to pieces under normal driving.

Interesting opinion. I just set foot over to the darkside about 2 weeks ago with a GMC pickup. Owned 4 Fords and this is my First GM product. I plan on keeping it for quite a long time so we'll see how it performs as opposed to the fords I had. I had an '07 F150 I bought with 40k miles on it and it needed balljoints and an axle seal, then at 50k the alternator went. Funny thing is my cousin has an '07 silverado and the alternator went out around the same mileage. In the end I'd prefer a ford but I'm looking towards the future and when this truck gets older and starts needing repairs, I've always found GM trucks easier to work on and the parts are always cheaper around here.

Strange options. To very different vehicles. The wrx is fun to drive and way faster but the camaro just isn't what it could be. Hard to see out of and doesn't drive well. Wrx is far better of these choices but I'd drive a v6 stang before I bought either. Doesn't cost anything to try one.

I went for a ride in a new body style Camaro a couple years ago. It wasn't bad, other then being a little hard to see out of, and even that I could live with. It felt pretty good from the passenger seat, but still not good enough to make me want to run out and buy one. Something about the looks are just a little weird to me, too. It looks a little exaggerated to me somehow, like a scaled up version of a child's toy. Most of the people I talk to disagree with that however, so I suppose the weirdness is more with my taste than with the car itself.

Pcollins, I wish you luck with the GMC. I wouldn't mind having one of their 2500s, but I have just seen too many issues with their 1500s to want to have one. Then again, most of what I know/ have heard is about older trucks more so than the ones of recent years. My father has a 91 F-150 with over 200K mies that has been well abused on many occasions. The stock automatic went 175K before it died, though finding a good replacement trans has been an issue. The inline 6 has never even had the valve cover or oil pan off except to replace leaking gaskets, and even then all appeared to be well at a glance. The stock rear has never had an issue, and I am just now getting around to replacing the original front ball joints, though admittedly they are quite worn out. I'm not saying Chevy never built anything good, just that it seems too often me they have issues that they shouldn't. I suppose it's nothing an owner that's a capable mechanic would be terribly bothered by. I'm a hypocrite anyway. With all the trouble my Ranger has given me, if I held it to the same standards I hold other cars to, I should hate it by now.

Yeah, I went with Camaro. The WRX turned out being too far out of my price range. Got a damn good deal on the Camaro though. Pretty happy with it.

I test drove the following cars:

Scion FR-S
Toyota Tacoma
Ford Mustang
Ford Focus ST
Hyundai Genesis
Hyundai Veloster Turbo
VW GTI
Mazdaspeed3
Subaru WRX
Chevy Camaro

...the Chevy turned out to be my favorite, it was also the second cheapest brand new (behind the Mustang, which I also liked a lot! But I liked the Camaro just a tad more, and I looked at these both without bias)

But again, I thank you guys, I'll still be around from time to time, especially until I get some of my parts sold.
