As I always suggest others; it's the simplest of things that usually go wrong...

Put the truck in the backyard for my friend to help me do the rear brakes. in the meantime I'm doing some work on the dashboard I took the frame away from instruments removed the ABS light bulb to complete the elimination of the rabs (don't tell) of course because I'm losing my mind, my memory and everything else that goes along with being old, I took the wrong bulb out!
So, loosen the gauge pod,and of course the speedometer cable won't let it move very far but it managed to get the right bulb out and the right bulb in.

Feeling a little proud of myself I went to crank it over and it wouldn't start!!

( Here comes that omg feeling like a hole in the bottom of my stomach. )

I'm thinking all the worst things.. [emoji3][emoji848] finally I started backtracking,. There are two additional grounds on - battery terminal

(which is one of the things I want to correct to factory original someday.)

Anyhow because those two wires were not really tight with the battery terminal when I put it back on, it wouldn't start! finally tightened up the battery terminal and she started right up guess I'll sleep tonight!

I'm really getting too old for this kind of excitement [emoji1787]

Those two wires are main power grounds for the PCM. It won't start without those.

I have to get the original ground cable from a yard because they don't reproduce it new? I probably should look instead of asking silly questions.

on a positive note it was an absolutely beautiful day today easily 40 degrees warmer than it was 5 days ago!

Use regular single large battery negative cable to engine for starter and alternator use then add these ground straps:
Engine to Firewall, cab electrics
Engine to frame, tail lights, fuel pump
Frame to inner fender, relays
Inner fender to rad support, head lights, lights, horn

You can literally go to a wrecking yard a pick up "ground" straps off the ground, lol

I did most of that during the summer I found the engine ground strap was off,. these two wires are normally part of the crimp connection on the original battery cable that's why they were loose because they're on the clamp bolt.

Not that it's important Ron, but where do I look for checking out the cruise control?

Thank you gentleman it's a little less lonely using a forum to sound off on things.
