I was on my way to bail some hey sat. morning bright and early. As i was driving i came across a sign that said sale. I usually slow down and take a quick peek look for any thing good, saw a microw wave, something i need for college. Well i get out to go look at it then i see a Maco crash cart w/ a guy pulling tools out of it. So i talk to him find out he just got laid off from a shop doing heavy equipment work and is selling some of is tools he really doesn't use or doesn't need most of it was off his service truck.

So umm 400 bucks later. I have a complete set of wrench 1inch to 2inch, 30mm to like 38mm. Some name i haven't heard off but seem decent, a brand spanken new IR 3/4 impact 1,100ftlbs, A cooler about 18inchs deep 24inches long and 12inchs wide full off 3/4 and 1inch drive sockets from like 1inch to 4 inch, w/ reduces, inducers, extensions- mostly MAC sockets and some Wells, all the clutch tools to adust clutchs made by eaton fuller, bunch of CAT only tools. A coolent pressure tester w/ adaptors for volvo, mack, freight liner, a set of cable-house puller pliers, a blue point dial indicator w/ magnet base, 2 pry bars, a 3/8's drive Maco torque wrench hardly used, a 1/2 drive maco torque wrench hardly used, cheap knock off a/c dye kit. Think thats it.

His wife said that he was said to see his tools go so cheap but they need money fast for the house payment. Guess the guys boss just called him up last sat. and was like sleep in monday, he was like why b/c theres no work to come to shops closed. Guess his misfortune worked out well for me.

:shok:Do you really have to ask if this was a good deal or not:shok:

Being in the buisness I know what all those tools are worth. You got away with murder! Good score!

EDIT: They're maTco tools.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm............................let me see if i got this right :icon_idea:you just aqquired over 3 grand worth of tools for 400 bucks and you want to know if you got a good deal or not?:thefinger::thefinger:my question is this, did ya at least give the guy a kiss and a reach around? i'll bet his a$$ is sore and you got a hell of a score. what a way to fall into a pile of crap and come out smellin' like a rose!!!!!!!!!!!!:dntknw:, but i'd be sending that guy a christmas card for the next couple of years;missingteeth;:thefinger: any way good score.

I'm out of school in 4 months to start out in the real world so i need to get all the tools i can. Shitty part is my 54inch rolltop snap on box is packed full now along w/ my big crash cart. Time i guess to invest in a top box while i still get half off snap-on. Just glad i got all the stuff for heavy equipment.

I was looking through a Mac catalog today and found out the that the set up bud wheel sockets i got were originally 194 bucks so i guess the 100 bucks i gave for all the sockets was well worth it
