I have bad stock shocks (old as the hills)...i was wondering what was a good realtively cheap aftermarket set i could get?

its going on without a lift, just need to have a better ride than getting jarred to hell, and back.

i want something decently cheap cause i will eventually put a lift kit on.

Thanks guys/gals.

I would say hit up the junk yard and find something. As to buying new, Im not sure... I would say if you are changing suspension then you might as well do a lift while you are that deep into the truck.

I am running a set of NGK gas-charged shocks. I think I paid $34 a piece about 5 years ago at Fisher. They work great, ride nice, all around good shocks.

Check out the "Rough Country" line. There great for the money. Check fee bay. A set of 4 for abut $130. Even less if you "Bing" it.

Maybe I have KYB. I think they are KYB, not NGK. NGK makes plugs. Confound all these durn letters!!!!.

What is "fee bay"?

just another way of saying ebay!

i have rough country on mine they came with the 4in lift kit. good shock i guess, they aren't in pieces anyways.

since your looking for stock i'm sure you will be happy with almost any shock. price shop at autozone and whatnot. prob have them in stock!

ah. I'm not a big e-bay-er. I think I used it once in high school. Otherwise fairly oblivious to it's existence.

might check craigslist too. i'm surprised what kinda stuff they have on there all the time

Are these the ones you mean? Might go ahead and buy those if so.

Yes, that is the brand. That is not the exact shock I use as I am 4x4. I assume there close. They ride a little stiff when new but after few hundred miles there great. Real good with any kind of load in the bed. You won't regret it.

best ultra-cheap-ass shocks ive ever used were gabriel guardians. about $16 each at vato zone.

they ride a little rough, but dont seem to inhibit flex too much, and they're red, so they must be good!

That red will really show with might light blue truck!

thanks guys, imma start at autozone and such and start looking around some more.
