Was poking around the junkyard and i found this center console in a ford taurus sho, and fully loaded mercury sable. I still need to go back and grab the shifter boot, and finish making the mounts.

I wish it were gray, but black is better than tan.

Oh, just to be clear, some cutting was involved to the center console, its not just bolt in and go. I had to trim off about 6 inches off the front.

what did you do with the passenger airbag cutoff switch?

Looks really good so far, great work

Sent from the road while ignoring traffic

Cut off switch? never came across it, the only thing that i removed was the ash tray

fits good........now for some spray-on paint for upholstery/plastic

Looks good man!

Is your Ranger still a 2.3? What trans are you running?

What year is your truck? Do you have a passenger airbag?

As a general question to everyone, what year did they start using the cutoff switch? As long as the passenger airbag was available?

My 96 didn't have a passenger side air bag.

Sent while I should be doing something else

Looks nice. Yes, I have twins.
Twin turbos? lol

Been there done that, then it chipped off, i may go with black floor carpet eventually

yea 2.3 still. with a mazda r1 i think?.

I had to modify the shifter a bit to go through the shifter hole in the console. Unknowingly at the time, I made the shifter heavier and slightly shorter than stock, and its shifts so much better.

You should consider doing the rubber floor instead of black carpet. Easier to clean and the carpet will immediately get dusty ;) I honestly prefer carpet but I'm getting and closer and closer to doing the rubber floor.

I was going to, BUT, I learned a trick from my buddy that works at a dealer ship. He said to use brake clean on the carpet to get the heavy stains out. I was extremely skeptical at first thinking it would melt the carpet. I sprayed a little in one of the bad stains and now i have an extremely clean half dollar sized patch of carpet:shok:.

That and i really dont like the "work truck look"

Ditto. It looks great if the rig is for trail only, but I have a hard enough time convincing my girlfriend that my truck is respectable. I just got the pinstripes off and she admitted it looked "decent." God help me if I go and decide to do a rubber floor. She'd never ride with me :)

how did you get the pinstripes off? Mine are all cracked and part of it flakes off every time i wash it, but all the adhesive is still there.
