As the title states, I had my iPhone jailbroken iPhone and I was trying to update it to the new OS but something went screwy and it deleted ALL of my apps and ALL of my music and now the bottom portion of the touch screen wont work? Also it'll say the sim card isn't in there sometimes. It's really starting to piss me off, anyone have a clue as to what's going on?

If you had apps that were cracked (installed without buying), then the update will delete all of them.

Sounds like you restored instead of just updating.

Try doing a restore on your iPhone again and see if it still has the screen problem. Seems like it is just a fluke that the screen went out at the same time as you did the update/restore.

You do realize that there is no jailbreak for the 4.0.1 iPhone firmware? If you must have a jailbreak/unlock to use your iPhone, you don't need to update.

yeah, I knew there wasn't a jail break for the...... actually I think it was 4.0.2 firmware. Anyways thanks for your help but I just bought a new one, it was just an 8gb 3g, nothing special, and it was a refurb and it ran ridiculously slow in the first place.

What did you do with the 3G?

What would you sell it for in its current form?

well actually I just threw it in the dumpster lol,the screen was cracked and it kept saying there wasn't a sim card in there and it was, but my sister is about to get a new phone (she had the same one I had) and I'll let you know what she wants for it if you're interested

Let me know how much she wants for it and what all comes with it.
