i really dont want to regear my truck, so would a 30x9.50 be ok with a 3.73? 32 is just too much for it, so i think i can pull it off without looking stupid under a 3" lift. what do you guys think? will i have to regear with the 30s?

just go to 31's i had them in my 92 explorer with 3.73's and on my ranger with a 2.9 and 3.73's both trucks were sticks and did great

i have 35's with 3.23 gears with a 4.0L and its doing fine, but im getting 33's soon.

A 30" would be fine with those gears, pretty close to the stock 235/75-15, but for that same reason I don't think it would look right under a 3" lift. I'd go with 31's.

What is the biggest you can go with out having to re-gear?

By the time you buy new tires you could probably buy gears. Unless yours are wore out already. I'd just run 4th on the highway instead of overdrive and go with it. My buddy has 38's on a 4 cylinder jeep with 4.10's, he runs 3rd gear on the interstate.

Depends how much you care.

I personally can't stand 235-75-15s with 3.27 gears and a 4.0 but rangerdude91 seems to be happy with 35s on 3.27s with a 4.0.

my buddy runs 31s w/ his 3.0 auto 2wd it gets around purty good,if yours is a stick it should be better.his mpg still suck though

edit: he also has heavy 15x10 steel wheels

Well your 32's are probably 32x11.50R15's right? and you would be going to 31x10.50R15's... thats an inch narrower and an inch shorter but probably like 5 to 10 lb's of weight reduced per tire. All 32's and 31's are also load c's so that makes them heavy too. you could go to 265x75R15's which is a little taler then a 31 not by much and they come in standard load so they will be alot lighter!

I think 31's would be fine though... I mean my 99 has my 31's and some heavy black steel wheels and It takes off fine and usually get around 22 - 25 hwy and 18 -20 city. Its no race car but even with the stock tires it wasnt much better.
