i have a 1990 ranger 2wd 2.3 4 cylinder 5 speed. i want to redo the dash because its cracked. first i plan to put some fiberglass resin where its cracked and then sand it smooth. i will sant the entire dash with 180 grit sand paper to scuff it up so the glue will adhere properly. i plan on using a spray adhesive similar to the one used for headliners. i was going to glue black fabric down over the dash. i will stretch it out around the passanger side above the glove box as much as possible then cut a clean cun around that ledge where you sit stuff. then i will cut a piece out for that section and glue it. to hide the spot where the two pieces meet i will glue down a white line around it. i would also like to glue a ford racing cloth decal on that section. does this sound like it will work and look nice? also i plan to do this with the dash in the vehicle and i will protect everything when sanding.

fiberglass does not stick to plastic nor vinyl. you can wrap right over it. you can use "fiberglass resin jelly" to fill the crack, (only since your wrapping it) sand it now spray it with "super generla spray adhesive" from advanced auto parts

done it many times, works perfect!

Not to stray off topic, but that's an incredibly impressive sound system.

I like the idea of re-doing the dash in fabric like that. I personally wouldn't pick any with a "pattern" on it, but maybe a straight black or gray.

thanks man. yea i only did the "carbon fiber look" so to speak (i didnt get it cause i wanted it to look like carbon fiber, i dont like the CF on anything but real import cars) but it broke up the silver and black well.

and i built all of that under my carport, alot of time money, and sleepless nights lol
