They're relatively cheap and a friend has welding equipement...

But for the sound, would anybody recommended this or too loud???

Don't do that man. You'll turn a nice V6 into a ricey V6. The glasspack will be loud, but the sound quality will resemble that of a fart can. Your exhaust will be really raspy. If you're on a budget go with a decent turbo muffler for a nice throaty sound or save some pennies for a chambered muffler as these sound much more "muscley" on the rangers.

Right on..Yeah I figured that. There are clowns runnin around town with cherry bombs scrapin off the pavement with their 4 banger civics and what not :icon_twisted:

I was checkin out the magnaflow universal, theyre around $120 and some good sounds from a few youtube videos.

Heres an F-150 with a magn universal:

I found a cherry bomb turbo muffler in a local classifieds for 40 bucks. I could probably bargain for around 35 and these sound pretty nice on the youtube vids...A decent purchase??

A turbo muffler is gonna be really quiet. You can buy a knockoff 40 series for less than that.

Whats a decent knockoff Hahn?

Mello-tone I heard are pretty decent and made out of thicker steal.

I'm on a pretty tight budget at the moment so looking for a decent cheap one

You can get a Thrush or Summit welded muffler for around $30, they're every bit as good and well-built as a magnaflow/flowmaster.

I think that too loud an exhaust on a V6 sounds like an outboard motorboat.

Yeah you really need the v8 or heighetend 6 for it to look/sound decent...

I'll probably pick up the thrush welded. Theres a speedy exhaust nearby that deals them and I'll probably get slightly bigger pipes put on....

Damn I should know this but does anyone know the pipe size on a 97 4.0?? I think it's 2" but Ill probably go with a 1/4 or 1/2 an inch bigger
