agreed, V6 glasspacks sound awful.. but a straight six sounds WORSE

I had a glasspack on my 98 ranger with a 3.0 and it sounded terrible. Got a thrush welded muffler and duals ran out the back yesterday and love it.

I kind of like the beller of a loud I6.

I left the cats on my F-150 and with true dual glasspacks it has a really nice tone. It isn't all that loud... unless I drop the hammer.

could be because it was a heep of shit, i mean a jeep, but my buddy had dual exhaust and i think glasspacks on his CJ7 and it sounded good (it was a 258 I6)

used to run glass packs on my old corvair convertible in high school. 110 hp, 6 cylinder, and with the top down, a real chick magnet... right. it was all i could afford back then. i thought it sounded pretty good. course i was only 16.

im running true duals at moment. going to put 12inch glasspack on each pipe. cause it sounds nice. just getting over 75mph sounds ricey. glasspacks will deeper the tone and make it little quieter.

Also, matters what glasspacks you using. dont get those new one they have on market. get a TRUE glasspack. the guy who invented the glasspack lives here in my town Lawton, OK and he selled me 2 old-school ones and they sound badass to me. truck sounds like a drag truck. lol =D

I had a 85 with the 300 in it and Dual Flowmasters, the 40 series IIRC, and it sounded badass. That engines got damn near the same displacement as a 302.

I think I'm gettin old, I have 18" glass pack on my truck right now with the pipe in front of the rear tire, and it bugs the hell out of me. I think i'm goin to get a turbo muffler put on to tone it down a little bit. Just my .02.

well ive heard that a 300 straight piped with the cats left on sounds pretty good. I cut the muffler off of my 2.9l ranger sunday and you can still barely hear it lol. in the words of my fiance "it kinda sounds like a truck now instead of a grandpa mobile"

fwiw, my 4L with the exhaust removed at the exhaust flange under the bed and nothing behind it, is still pretty quiet... i've got a magnaflow on it now, sounds nice, a little quiet though...

had a cherry bomb glass pack on my tempest (88) and it sounded dumb

Here's one on my Zx2. It's a flowtech redhot glasspack.

Not an F150, but it's better than not hearing how one sounds at all.
