Giving My Truck A Facelift

I picked up a set of smoked headlights, they have some LEDs and Halos, but they aren't actually HID. So I decided to put them on today, it was pretty simple putting them in, just had to fiddle with them a bit.

Next I decided too fix my horrible plastidip job I did on the front emblem.

I just cut these off.

Clearcoat was peeling off, so I just sanded it and painted it.

Cleaned and touched up the grille.

Double sided taped it on.

Installed.

Today I picked up some lens tint and tinted my third brake light.

Done.

I wonder if hitting it with a clearcoat would make it look nice.

Probably. I know a lot of people that use the night shades will clear and buff them afterwards to make it look and last better.

Yeah it's a little rough but I think I'll get some clearcoat.

Take some pictures of those headlights at night if you don't mind. I've been eyeing a set like that for awhile but don't want to pull the trigger based on some of the reviews I've read. Are those spyder?

Your new headlights look great. Just a idea on your blacked out emblems, you could get a Krylon gloss black paint pen and go over just the letters on the emblems to make them standout a little more against flat black, or you can go bold with bright yellow. Like I said, just an idea. Yellow is my favorite color on cars and trucks so your Ranger has always been a stand out to me.

Thanks, I did try to actually paint Ford yellow on the emblem, and that didn't go so well. My painting skills only extend to one color at a time lol.

They aren't as dark as they look. You can still see the lights fine, I didn't do the heavy stuff like some other people do.

I have seen a lot of smoked tail lights that look way too dark until you light them up and see how well they do show.

Look to dark to me, but I like barely tinted dark red Haha.
