Hello all, thought you might like to hear my thoughts on a Gibson 619717 stainless steel single exhaust. Install wasn't to easy (no lift), so I jacked up the truck on the right side (on the frame about two feet in front of the axle). The rest wasn't bad (for one person), but in the end, the muffler clamps (really bands) on the last two points didn't work so well. They tended to bow the metal up when tighten. So I moved them around till they worked the best, but I had to really crank down on them till the pipe wouldn't move at the junctions. Now the test drive. The sound is a nice deep rumble at idle, a bit more than stock. While driving, you can hear the exhaust, but I don't hear any resonant in the cabin. Wide open still isn't overwhelming, but keeps a lower tone, nowhere near the "rice rocket" sound. It might be me (old man) but not so loud is good. The throttle response seems quicker (turbo spooling up quicker ? ). If your lookin' for a LOUD exhaust, this Gibson might not be for you. But if you want a little rumble at idle and nice sound at full pedal, with out a high pitch whine, this might suite you. Shop around, and you can fine this exhaust for just a little more than $500.00. Ride Safe. Bob

They last a very long time too. Mine has over 250K miles on it and still works well, but does have a tarnished look to it. I think it is louder now than when new, but still not loud.

I just got a new Ranger yesterday. I had a Gibson on my old Sport Trac and it was loud although it did pick up a few mpg. I got the aluminized and the muffler got a hole in it after 7 years so I replaced it with a Flowmaster DBX that was a little quieter and I liked a lot. For now I'm liking the quiet.
