getting that 2" lift from an explorer

I've been doing some research and have found some info I'd like to verify. Is it true that on my 2wd 92 ranger if I take the leaf packs and coils off a 2nd gen explorer and replace my shocks with 2" lift shocks from say skyjacker or tuff country that the truck would infact sit 2"s taller. If this is true could I also add a leveling kits coil cups up front to level the vehicle out.
