Hi. New to this forum. I just purchased a 1998 Ranger 2 door supercab. I previously had a 1987 Ranger supercab. The passenger seat on the 1998 does not slide as far forward as the front seat on the 1987 and I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is a way to fix this or do I just have to live with it. I load tools and riding gear in the back when I go dirtbike riding and it is a pain to get stuff into the back compared to my old Ranger.

Thanks.

How far forward does it go in realation to how far the drivers seat does? Does it go the same distance, or further?

If it only goes forward to the point that the drivers seat does, then it would have to be something wrong with the secondary slider, if that's what you want to call it. From what I remember, the seat slides on one set of sliders, then when it gets to a certian point, a second set takes over. I could be wrong, but I think that is how it works on mine.

Other than that, I would have to ask if the seats are stock Ranger seats, or seats out of something else? If they are out of something else, like an Explorer, they probably don't go forward very far.

Since I bought it used, I don't know if the seats have been changed out but they do appear color coordinated with the interior.

Farther forward? My 04 supercabs passenger seat damn near touches the dash.

Mine goes almost to the dash too. It doesn't go qiute as far now, becuase of the consol it has now that I have a manual tranny (stock manual tranny consol with a cup holder on each side).

But the divers side goes forward maybe 6-8 inches and that's it. I just haven't bothered doing the modification to it that allows it to go all the way forward, like the passenger's side.

Back to the original topic, does your seat go further forward than the drivers seat does?

The passenger seat only goes as far forward as the driver's seat.
