getting frustrated

Well here it goes. I have an 88 ranger with no reverse, a4ld trans., I put in a rebuid kit that had all new bands, seals, cluthes, etc. , my valve body was replaced with a rebuilt one I bought online, and I put a new torque converter in it. Still no reverse. The forward gears work. Is there a way to test the pump pressure. Im running out of ideas:annoyed:
