yup, found an 87 BII for $200. Its turd brown. Body has some dents, but it and the frame are solid. Good ol' southern truck (much better than my Yankee BII).

overall plan is to keep the body and frame stashed "just in case"

the owner was in the middle of swapping a 5-speed in place of the auto, and lost interest. ran when parked about 2 years ago.

specs: 2.9, 5 speed, manual transfer case, manual hubs, A/C.

interior is ratty and faded, so it will go to the dumpster.

stuff i know i'm going to sell:
-rims: chrome 16" from an explorer (the 3 spoke ones).
-engine
-trans
-transfer case
-driveshafts

I want to sell the axles, but i need something to roll it around on. if it was originally an auto trans, what do you think the gear ratio is? should be lower than my stock 3.45's. i may strip the front axle down, sell the diff chunk, lockout hubs, and shafts. just leave the hub nuts on the spindle to hold it up. i already have a 7.5 taking up space, so i'll just sell the one in better shape

Stuff I'll keep:

-should i keep the A/C stuff? can i use the compressor on my 302, for onboard air?
-body shell, glass, and frame
-someday i may convert to fuel injection on my 302. what should i leave on this body to make that easier?

I'll snap some pics when i pick it up (maybe this weekend). Its almost a shame to strip it for parts, it could be made into a driver pretty easily.

I don't know about the compressor.

I have heard that if you wire 2 more injector plugs onto the end of the FI harness of a 2.9 engine harness you can plug a 302 into it and make it work, with 302 computer of course.

Having done something similar...I would only suggest keep everything that is not rusted out...I took a load of parts to the dump once after I figured I'd gotten everything I needed...ended up going back several times and paying for things that I'd tossed...and I still need a front bumper...

Keep too much and you'll end up with a garage that is so cluttered with RBV parts that you can only fit one car in there now, instead of two. That's what happened to me. :dunno:

thats one of the reasons for this B2, storing B2 parts

I love my F150. pulled the load up to highway speed quickly, and handled great.

Ugly freakin 16" explorer rims. gonna get rid of them

tire carrier-less body, perfect to go with my James Duff tire carrier bumper.

I obviously didn't buy it for the interior, haha. gonna strip the carpet and headliner, but leave the dash. I've got enough spare pieces to complete whats missing

haha, new hatch struts :headbang:

Just kidding! buddy of mine had his trans go out. he was going to try and limp it to a guys shop just outside of town. i happened to still have the trailer (i was giving it back today), so we loaded it up and i took it over there for him. a 2" drop hitch would have been ideal, but all i had was the 4" drop that i used on my (much smaller) trailer.

pulled great, even up the steep dirt road to the shop

couple days after this, another guy at work offered me 2 bII's for free, just had to come and get them

picked up one of the free BII's today. its an 87. this one is getting chopped up for parts, so bill of sale was all i needed. the guy is looking for the title to the other one, since i'm going to try to make it a driver. should be dragging it home next weekend

it has one busted back glass, and is rusted out pretty bad.

here's both of them together at the guy's house

i used some of my b2's stock rims/tires, since this one had 3 tires peeled off the rim.

its a mess. this is after i spent about 15 minutes cleaning it out. got more done, but too dark for pics. also starting cutting out the carpet.

yeah, this b2 has been sitting with a busted window in a field for at least 5 years, and the floorboards still have less rust than my b2's

got another freebie today!

dana 44 TTB from an early 90's full size bronco (and radius arms, tie rods, and a bucket of other parts). probably just going to do the knuckle swap onto my 35 beams, so i really wont use very much of all this. but its there if i choose to get creative. gonna need rotors, calipers, bearings, hubs etc..., but thats just stuff i would have replaced anyways (except rotors, but i should be able to find a used set to have turned)
