That the round-body Cherokee?

I had a brand-new Cherokee Country in '96 for a rental after a kid rear-ended me and my wife in my old Jetta. Loved it for the two weeks we had it. Think it had a 4.0 in it.

the grands are nice rigs.. i wouldnt own one just b/c there are other things l'd rather buy but hey... can even be built up pretty nice to.

its a v8! decent ride. is it 4x4? if so- i say its a score!

The Grand Cherokee is a ZJ; the other one is the XJ. The other half has had 2 of them, both XJs. An '85 with the 2.8 V6/5spd was the first; the current one is a 2000 XJ with the 4.0/auto OD. Other than the Rochester carb on the first one, it wasn't a bad ride. Nothing as good as the 2000, though.

the ZJ would it be a more refined XJ?

A fleet? You only have 4. I have that many DDs and a junker. And that's not counting the cars at my parent's house.

not so much refined.. just higher class.. think f150 xlt vs f150 king ranch.. lol

but also a different body style...

ahh true it fits me then im real classy:icon_rofl:

Nah, that's just Jeep's way of ID-tagging their stuff. I've got a '78 CJ-7. The "square-headlight" open-top Jeeps were YJs. The boxy-looking Cherokee was the XJ; the Grand is the ZJ. If you want a pretty good rundown of the tags, go here:

ahhhh informative!

Well..you asked for it!

JEEPS SUCK BALLS!!!!!!

There. It's done. :D

Actually, I think it's a nice rig man. :icon_thumby:

repped for making me laugh!:icon_thumby:

:iamwithstupid: Thats not a fleet. I have 9 cars and trucks. 10 if you count my wife's nissan altima. ( but I dont count that as mine, or even a car.) 6 of them are RBVs! Thats getting close to a fleet.

Seriously, I've always liked that body style ZJ. The 318, while not a powerhouse, is a good motor as far as mopar engines go. Take care of it and it will take care of you. We have an '82 Cat 18,000lb forklift with the 318 in it. The thing wont die. They have ran it with less then a quart of oil in it, no anti-freeze, let it sit for months...Then when they need it, hit the key and floor it, no warm-up. Its got 22 or 23,000 hours on it.
