What have you guys used to get the key/wedge out????(the one before the wheel bearing nut) I tried and tried yesterday and it didnt even budge. Im swapping in some warn hubs on my D35 and its the only thing stopping me from finishing:flipoff:. Only tried one side but like I said it wouldnt move.

did you try to tighten/loosen the nut a little to free any side forces on it?

yeah I did both didnt really seem to budge much and I didnt want to F*%k anything up.....never really had these hubs apart.

A magnetic pickup tool yanks them right out. If they are wedged in, twist the nut back and forth while pulling out with the tool.

I'll try that. Didnt have one so I was using a pick to get at it.

Shoot some brake cleaner in there to dissolve the grease. This is not a trouble spot. Busting the spindles free is a trouble spot. While you are doing the hubs, do the u-joints. They need it and bad u-joints and spindle bearings will ruin new lockouts.

I'd think the $4 is worth it just to have some way to get a dropped bolt out of an open intake manifold (or just underneath the fuel rail or an engine mount). Cursing doesn't work. I tried.

i always use a magnet. works fine
