Hey, I am starting to get to the point where I need to get some new tires. I was wondering if anyone is running yokohama geolander MT+ and how they do as far as traction and tread ware. I was also looking at mabey Dunlop radial mud rovers. Also wondering how these do.
thanks.

I've had Geolander M/T+ on my 96 for about 1 1/2 years, They're down to about 20% on the rear, and 40% on the front, Lots of highway miles, but they're still great offroad.

I've never gotten stuck with them, and i've pulled plenty of people out.

Tread wear would be better considering I got a job 25 miles away, so I get to travel via Highway on them.

A little noise, But hardly noticeable unless you're going 90+ or under 20.

I am running the yokohama geolander MT+ 33/12.5 15's they are awsome. They ride nice and quiet when new, ballance out really easy and they are even better in the mud.

I am on my second year on them and I have about 40% tread left all the way around. I do lots of street driving and hit the trails when I can. I drive a minimum of 45 miles a day 6 days a week. This is my second set of yokohama's i have bought and I will definatly get them for a third time.

I tried interco's trexus stx's they were great for the first year in the snow but i had to ditch them. They were so outa round they just punished the truck way to much to suposedly be a street and sand tire.

I've got a friend who runs the Dunlops. They seem to do well offroad, and wear well with highway use. Their sizes seem a bit inconsistent though...

He had a set of 32x11.50R15s that barely measured 31" tall when new (but were close to their 11.50 width spec), but the 33x12.50R15s he has now measure more like a 33.5x13.00R15 (almost what some "small" 35s are) :icon_confused:

I like my Dunlops, they haven't let me down yet. I don't have a ton of miles on them but they seem to be wearing pretty decent.

I have wondered about their sizing, I have 235/75-15's with a 3" bodylift and I don't think I could go much bigger. I haven't measured them though, I got them used. They do fill up the wheel wells much better than my street tires of the same size.

The only thing I don't like is on packed snow and ice they are downright scary. In loose, fresh snow they are unstoppable. I don’t drive it much in the winter anyway but it would be nice to be able to if I had to. I will try something else the next time around in hopes of getting something a little better in winter, and maybe a little quieter. I have been thinking about Destination MT's but I am going to run the Dunlops until they can be ran no more first.

FWI, the Mercades cars in "Jurassic Park-The Lost World" had Dunlop Mud Rovers.:yahoo:
