I picked up a clean 84 (My First 1st Gen!!!) last year and have some ideas for a serious overhaul. Well, it's a clean , complete running driving truck that I enjoy driving to work a couple days a week and around town. So rather than rip apart a nice runner, I've been on the lookout for another clean Gen 1 for a project. I found one in Pennsylvania, a good 5 hour drive from home. Went down Sunday and picked it up. Sorry for being a pic whore, but here it is from the trailer to how it sits as of Tuesday night...

Pic it out man! at least you have documentation of every step! thats where i messed up lol
Yeah what are you plans? i mean 4x4 swap into a nutts wheeler project OR a custom 2wd sleek rig?

we’re all abunch of whores on here! we CRAVE gossip! :icon_rofl: ....about rigs...

It's staying 2wd. I know at this point you guys are probably expecting me to bolt it up onto a jacked bronco chassis. Not a bad idea, but not the route I'm going with this truck. Hopefully I'll be able to share the direction I'm headed with more pics. No worries, I'll keep you updated.

YES!!!! i mean if mine wasnt my DD and i could take it down to that and work on it..... :icon_idea: .......
Just let us know! and it looks like your serious about this with all that time and effort, so don’t cut them corners, spend the extra $50 at times since you’ve committed yourself. :icon_thumby:

I was too anxious to post this, didn't realize I put it in the wrong spot. Any chance an admin or moderater can move it to minitrucks under construction? Thank you!!!

Not much of an update, but loaded the cab onto trailer last night and test fitted a pair of 08 seats I had in the garage. Looks like they're gonna bolt right up with very minor adjustments!

PM Jim or one of the mods with the URL of the thread and ask them to move it to that section. That's what I did when they split out the build sections and mine was stuck in off-road. Chances are they won't notice your request here, or that it'll be a while before they do.

Did you not have to swap out the seat tracks so they will bolt down, or is fixing that going to be part of your minor adjustments? Usually track swapping is required to install almost any seat in a first gen.

I'm still trying to decide what seats I want to put in my first gen. Right now I'm thinking it'll be either the factory bench seat (mildly bolstered style) recovered, or a pair of Mustang Mach 1 buckets.
