gen 2 front clip on a gen 1

ive got an 87 ranger im lookin to buy. its got front end body damage. ive got a clean clip from an 89 available to me. can it be swapped ?? or do i have to do a core support change??

i belive u can swap it, since the core support is the same

the core supports are not the same. but the 1st gen core support can be modified to work with the second gen headlights.

Will the body line match up cause I'm looking to do the swap just cause I like the gen 2 front end better

yes the body lines match
