Gen 1 VS. Gen 2

1st gen all the way! i just like the over all look more. 84-88, compared to what? 89 and 90??? that's 4 years compared to 2! lol

the 2nd gen has its perks- 4.0 swap is easier.. but i did it in mine easily (keeping my 1st gen dash!!!)

Idk i have had both and i like my 89 a lot better then my 88 cause it has manuel everything were as the 88 had power everything. I think the 89-90 clean up a lot better personally but thats just my 2 cents.

Its all about the front end and dash. I like trucks and cars where the front lights do not wrap Around into the fender. The dash on the second gen is also what kills it for me. Its to big and flashy, whereas the first gen is small, and doesn't have the cheap look that the second gen does.

And how can you argue with how 4.0B2's looks

Hey i'm not saying it looks like crap just giving my two cents like 1984broncoduce
asked. It looks clean for sure but a little to flashy for me mine is white with black wheels bumpers grill windows etc etc and i dont care about looks as it hasn't been washed in alomost 2 years.

i don't have a carb...
and i prefer my dual pumps! b/c i said so! lol.

i prefer the 2nd gen because the 4.0 swap is easier (plug and play in most situations) the late 2nd gens have the d35 front axle plus they have composite headlights instead of the older sealed beam technology. that just makes the 1st gen look older and dated. not that i dont like them. i definitely wouldnt turn one down either way

:worthless:
So I'll start.:D

First Gen all the way. For the same reason why I use Valvoline, it's what my dad had/uses. My dad had a Gen 1 Ranger when I was growing up and has always used Valvoline, and now I have a Gen 1 BII and use Valvoline, and the old man has another Gen 1 Ranger now.:icon_thumby:

After I durasparked my 2.8, my 302 was plug and play. Like literally unplug the 2.8 dizzy, plug in the 302 dizzy, hook up the starter and go.

They make composite headlight kits for first generations, I don't have a problem with my lights though.

If I didn't like the old and dated look (I think more of a classic look myself) I wouldn't have a first generation. The second is by no means leaps and bounds more modern either.

Since I have two, can I vote gen 2 twice. The look, the styling, the dash, and the ease of upgrades. Freakin love it
