I got a 07 ranger stx with the 4.0 v6..I'm wanting to put 35" tires on, does anyone kno if I have to change my gears even with the 4.0 in it?! Appreciate the help!!

Yes, even with the 4.0L and 4.10 gears I would most definately go deeper on gears with 35" tires. 4.88:1 gears will give you the leverage and a little more to compensate for the extra rotating mass, rolling resistance, and wind resistance from a taller vehicle.

I know people that rock 4.10s but your gas mileage is going to suck. Anything less would be a definite yes.

lol i rock the 4:10s with 35s, its a manual tho, seems to work out....and i always thought that gettin deeper gears would further decrease the milage???

Like Gottagofast said it will give your engine the leverage it needs to compensate for the larger tires. No guarantees but hopefully it will keep your mileage around what you currently have.
