Gearing

im sure its been asked a million times and rest assured i went into the tech library (quickly got confused) and did a search. i didnt find quite what i was looking for, what are the best gears to have in my ranger for a cross of Performance, and mileage. i think the book says i have 3.27's right now... i was looking elsewhere online at people who have used 3.73's and (from what i understood of the chart on here) 4.10's are good for performance with the tire size i have (31's) i dont really know much about gearing but i know its a really important thing. thanks guys, i tried as best i could to find this question already answered but i didnt find it. thanks.

Gearing got me screwed up bad at first too.

Find your tire size on the left, follow it out until blocks turn green, and then pick some gears. 4.10 or 4.27 (those were available but I haven't seen them for a long time) will be best for you.

so from the chart lets say im lo0king at 4.11's. where can i order gears from? is it a kit? and do i need one for front and back? im a total novice when it comes to gearing stuff, ive helped install them but never bought or picked them...

Jims Oaks sells the gears and install kit.You will need a front and rear set. Will run you near $600. Cheapest I have found them

I bought used front and rear axles with the gears I wanted for $200.00 off kijiji.
