gearhead's build thread

truck look's sweet, i'm runnin a factory pitman arm with 99% factory ford steering, and a ruff stuff frame side trac bar mount, with a hommade axle side bracket. idk what to tell you bout the spring's bowing but mine do the same darn thing. hopefully i'll be coilover in the future. i dont know where or how you wheel your truck but i can tell you I ran a hp D30 on 33's with serious issue's and am now runnin a hp44 on 37'' irok's and have'nt had any serious issue's to date.

Any TTB fullsize truck, they all run the same box as the ranger. I got mine from a late 80's F150.
thanks ,havent forgot about my quote right, lol, i know your busy with your build so no rush.

is it me or the front seem a little stiff, what coil could i put up front to soften it up a little, dont worry about the trac bar angle with the drag link ill be addressing that in a couple weeks

so sexy, oh and yes it does appear as your coils dont flex that much, mebbe try BC broncos coils IIRC they are pretty soft and flexy

I would think the springs will settle some after you break them in and youll get more flex from them. The truck looks badass! :icon_thumby:

Ya, the springs should settle in after a couple hundred miles. Axleshaft'll be shipped tomorrow!

sweet... looks good. i'm still jealous. i need more money to do mine.. but i'm getting there! can't wait.

truck look's sweet.

How did you go about cuttin your fender's (inner fender's front and back) and does the cut edge seem lethal?
been thinking of cuttin mine but dont have the extrea jing to spend on flexy flare's

those fender cuts are nice and clean. I just freehanded mine with the sawzall, it tends to flop around a bit and the cut gets crooked or the saw scratches the paint. I think it would be better with a jigsaw.

i used a angle grinder and followed the stock gray fender flare, there not bad lethal wise i might get some flexy flares or i could get some door trim and put it on the fender so i wont cut a tire. the inner plastic flares i notched and folded upand put a self tapper in

o.k. that's what I was plannin on doing in the front (same as my B2 build) but i guess i was more wondering if you got into the rear boxside support (above wheel opening) my cut is gonna end up being pretty close to this and i'm not sure if i'm gonna trim that back and re fab a support or what i'm gonna do.

the rear support i just cut back and smashed it up out of the way and didnt make another support, the fender was alot sturdier than i thaught without it so i left it, i can get some pics if you like , i also had to cut the front lower support in front of the door too and i just cut that out and drilled a hole and zip tied it
