thats bs. i beat the snot out of my 9inch and it keeps coming back for more(cept the bent stock shaft:D). but in my opinion, 513s dont make your pinion so small to the point where id be worrying about it. i havent had ANY problems with it on the street or on the trail with a full spool and very healthy 38.5 boggers.

yes but im talking about after the doubler if you beat on it and get bound up in rocks with the doubler theres a whole lot more stress on that pinion head. ever notice that most ppl run 4.10s with doublers?

410s and a doubler mean you are putting alot more stress on your t cases than if you had deeper gearing in the diffs

update
bought some brand new 36x12.50 tsl sx for $500 off craigslist:icon_surprised: these will be on the truck the most and ill put the boggers on for mud bogs. should be putting the gears in soon and i got a new detroit for the 8.8 and i got deaver eb coils which are 190lbs linear rate compared to the 210-370lbs progressive rate duff and i still gotta get my other chromolys. ill geet some pics up this weekend.

PICS!! the truck looks flippin sweet with the boggers

Truck looks sweet.

Keep the boggers and sell me the sx's.

You have any pics of the truck straight on? I just picked up a 78 d44 and am debating narrowing it but i wanna see how she will look.

Thanks John, looks like my tires will stick out as much as they do now. Sweet!

i would leave it full width for stability if you can live with the tire sticking cause my truck is pretty tippy with the 36in sx's on stock width rims, with EB d44 width. it wasn't as bad when i had the offset rims and 15in wide boggers but i didn't want fender flares and the cops were giving me the evil eye everywhere so i traded em for $2000 worth of snap on tools. ill try to get some pics of the truck on sx's

i got 4.56 gears and a detroit rear in the truck and have a 8000lb smittybilt comp coming in the morning and i will be goin to 1 tons in the future

How did you like 4.56 with the 38s and then 36's?
What about milage if you drove it enough to compare?

Its too late i already chopped it but i like deep dish 10" wheels so it will be ok.

Btw i still appreciate the lift kit, it made such a vast improvement and rode awesome thank you so much

i got rid of the 38's before i had the 4.56's in so i couldn't tell ya but i get good mileage only a little off from stock and it crawls great i wouldn't hesitate on throwing a set of 38's on, 5.13's are better but 4.56 would be alright

no prob glad i could help:beer:

let me know how you like those deaver springs, I was thinking about ordering up a set for mine.

wow i have been slacking defiantly need 2 update and get back 2 building the ranger. so reason y i haven't done much 2 the ranger is cause i bought a 83 camaro for $300, it had a crossfire injected 305 that wasn't wired up and only had a water pump and no radiator no interior bunch of stuff missing, it had a 700r4 automatic and needed paint so i swapped in a 28 spline 10 bolt, welded the rear swapped in a 5spd t5, kicked the old crossfire injection in the woods and slapped on a edelbrock intake and 600 carb and did a little wiring, external fuel pump, radiator, alternator, other stuff and painted it black, long tube headers true duals and dual flow master super 10's and 3 1/2in chrome tips (sounds amazing) and is now my dd. still a blast to drive even though its a 305 and it gets around 15 mpg and burns tire all day, i have the flaps on the hood set up so i can open them with a switch inside

the ranger got some used racing seats, and some armor. winch came out sick, it took 2 huge pieces on angle and boxed in the frame and then put square stock in and then put more angle iron on the front and back for the winch to bolt 2 and put a couple gussets in. i love where it sits 2 cause it doesn't hang below frame and doesn't stick out from the nose so when i go up a steep rock it won't rub
