Where did you by the new transmission from? What servicing have you done to either transmission? Did the new one come with any kind of warranty? or was it a private sale? I personally dont know of any swappable transmissions, Unless you choose to install a 5 spd as opposed to teh automatic. Its a little involved but a good choice in my opinion. M50d-R1 I think? If Im wrong someone will correct me. Also right above this section is a thread titled- interchangeable parts. Read it. The tech section on the home page will also give you alot of insight to your options. Is it a european ranger or and american version? The more details about hte truck and the specific issues the better we can assess your problem and try to help.

I dont realy know the diffrent by a europen ranger and a rager from USA, I belive that its the same. I bought the transmision from a privat person. And the original transmison on the car was broken when i bought the car.

The older whith the v6 engine have c3 transmision. any one who have any idee whats the changes to the A4LD. The only thing that i could find is that in A4ld therse a lot of electrics.

In my eyes the c3 transmision looks more reliabe, becus it "Low tech"

But then i dont know whats the difrents in splines and "dividebox".

See, i have never heard of the C3 or dividebox. The older rangers with the 2.8 ran the C4. THe dividebox I can only assume is the transfer case. Which allows the power from the motor to be sent to the front and the rear in a 4 wheel drive. The v6 engine sizes are different too, American rangers run a 2.8 or 4.0 v6. European models have slightly different sized engines made in different plants and not all the parts are interchangeable. At least to my understanding. But if your running the A4ld and American trucks run the A4ld I can only assume they are built the same.

The difference in splines is the number of little ridges on the output shaft and input shafts of the transmissions. There is a transmission section below this one, and there are a couple people from europe running rangers on this board, if you can find one they would have alot more knowledge than myself. I would start researching the transmission itself and see if either of your can be fixed for relatively inexpensive. I really dont have an answer for you specifically to meet your need. But coming towards the weekend there should be alot more people signing on who would have a better knowledge.

Do a search online- "A4ld no forward reverse." And see what solutions people have come up with. Its a common problem with autos that go out.
