i have an 85 2.3l 5 speed with trans code 5

my question is how much fluid do i need to buy and what weight would you guy recommend using.. i would rather get the info from people that have done it because i asked at auto zone (bad idea) and the guy told me i would be looking at a gallon and a half -_- anything would be appreciated

I would say probably 4 quarts of 80-90 gear oil to do the trans.

4 quarts would be a safe bet, though I suspect you'll only need 3.

Spec's 80W GL-4, though I've also used 75W-90 w/o issues.

So buy four and return the extra if any

I buy 4 and put the extra behind the seat in case it leaks.
