Just picked up a 2000 3.0L 2wd with 4.10s. I want to swap in one of my 3.73 axles but cant find exact information on how the speedometer is fed to take the proper action in speed correction after im done.

From what ive gathered 1998-2000 only read from the ABS sensor on the top of the rear case. If that true then changing ratios should automatically be corrected because of the way the sensor reads already? Im staying with the stock tire size just want some better highway gearing.

Thanks for any info.

I would think the same, since the # of teeth the sensor reads doesn't change (provided you use the same size axle also... Seems I read somewhere the 7.5 & 8.8 each have different tooth counts).
