Gauge Swap Question

I want to swap my black instrument cluster for a white faced. I have an 01 Ranger with manual trans and 4wd. Does it matter if the donor dash is manual or auto? What I want to avoid is the gear indicator associated with the auto trans. My current dash is just a black piece of plastic where the shift indicator would be on an auto.

If you pull the dash you will notice that there is a blank slot for the shift indicator. Basically any dash auto or manual should work as long as its a direct match because the shift indicator on these just comes out and stays with the vehicle.

original is correct. i did the swap on mine and i just installed the plastic cover on the new one since it came from an auto, and mine is manual

Awesome! Thanks guys. It's a PITA to find a dash that was from a MT and 4WD, this makes my search a lot easier!
