Gauge Cluster Swap?

Aloha,

I have a 2000 Ranger 2wd 3.0 5 speed. My vehicle didn't come withe the gauge cluster that has a tach. I was wondering if I could go to the junk yard and find a gauge cluster with a tach and swap it in with no problems? Are there any other years that would swap directly over? I realize I could just add a tach. I am an instrumentation engineer and the wiring would not be a problem. However, I am just wanting to keep the factory look to the vehicle.

Should be no problem as long as you get one from the same year or around the same year model

If you can find one it will just be a plug and play kind of thing. you could just wire up a tach, but i agree it does complicate the functionality of the dash plus it makes cleaning the inside of the windshield that much more difficult.
