Hey guys, has anyone tried installing a gauge cluster w/tachometer into a truck that originally had no tachometer? Just wondering if the wiring connectors would be the same, and if the tach/RPM signal is part of the factory wiring harness, even though the truck didn't have a tach from the factory. Thanks

I had a 96 without tach. Put a 94 cluster with tach in (different body style / generation). The plugs are the same between the generations (there is a ground that must be moved between plugs). Other than that, same machine.

The wiring harnesses should be the same and have the correct signals. Source a cluster from the same V6 / i4 type engine of the same generation and you should be golden.

I just did this to my 95 2x4 xlt. Everything hooked up fine, and the tach works (not correctly). Just working on some issues. Trying to figure it out.
