gauge cluster issues

I have a 94 ranger undergoing a 2001 5.0 swap. I want to use the explorer cluster and have no problem retrofitting it into my dash but the cluster out of my parts truck has water damage. Is there any difference between the 4.0 cluster and the 5.0 cluster? Its mostly the tach i am worried about
