I am sick of my drive shaft rubbing the skid, I am installing a doubler and shortening the rear end:icon_welder:. Long story short the stock gas tank has to go.

What is the easiest/cheapest way to get a tank up into the bed without taking up a ton of space? "91 ranger extendo-cab"

I've got an old bII tank but its been sitting for a few years, might be some rust in there. Maybe it just needs a treatment of some kind and I can run it?

swap a dual tank bed in and use the rear tank

What about a fuel tank you see on farm trucks or welding trucks up against the cab? You know the diamond plate ones.

the bed will be getting cut up or disappearing all together.

Is there anything special I have to do to rig up the lines etc?
Do most fuel cells come as kits with pumps and all the crap you need?

cell is pretty simple. but part for part you have to buy what you need generally

when i go where theres alot of big obstacles i put my saddle tank cross wise in the bed.

currently i have a 32 gallon van tank in the bed....its a space hog but i have good cruising range.

i just installed a used aluminum boat gas tank in the bed of my 1st gen 4x4. holds 27 gal. and got it for $50. what really costs is the fuel filler hose, over $1.00 per inch! oh well, now i'm carrying over 40 gal of gas total which is nice as i do several long trips a year, not to mention my trip to Fairbanks, AK. next summer.
i'd check the local boat yards for a good used inboard gas tank. just my $.02.

I was considering this too...but since I replaced the tank recently I'm going to wait for a bit...anyone have any pics of this setup???
