gas gauge

hey guys
my ranger gas gauge is not working.when i s hit the truck off the gauge stays at full or 3/4 tank.and when its runing it does the same.never goes below 3/4 tank
please help

Check the float to see if its stuck, also the wiring may be grounded out, but that will usually pin it to one side or the other, does it move at all? Like when you fill up does it go from full to 3/4?

Are any other gauges screwed up?

An inaccurate fuel gauge is much more likely to be a systemic electrical problem unless it's reading full hot or is just dead.

my other gauges are fine and the gauge still moves but it moves back and forth to full and 3/4 tank
