FX2 vs FX4

Whats the difference between an FX2 F150 and a "sport"?

I test drove a coyote powered sport about a year ago and it was about as sporty as i could imagine a truck being, even had a "sport mode" button on the shifter that, really, turned it from a pretty docile F150 into a mustang with a bed.

Sport has a different grille and bodycolor bumpers. Just an appearance package, they go back a long ways, until at least 1999 bodystyle.

FX2 is kind of the same thing but only for 2wd, different grille yet. I think they only made them with the 04-08 bodystyle. FX4 used to have a nicer interior too, that may have carried over too. I drive by one every day on my way to work but have never been in one...

Im pretty sure they had sports back to 92, they were rare though, and looked ugly (not a fan of body color grill and bumpers)

I didnt know the FX4 had different interiors, i thought it was more less got you a sticker, skidplates, and a limited slip

For awhile they were their own trim line. XL, XLT, FX4...

My brother's '14 is an FX4 Tremor, black leather interior, nice looking dash, cluster says FX4 on it and it has all the tiltawhirl stuff.

Bodycolor doesn't bother me a whole lot. Always been confusing how they can paint a truck and it looks decent for 10-15 years but a painted bumper will have rust holes in 5 though.

Ride height...

FX2 F-150’s were more of a street truck compared to the FX4. They sat low, I think the interest here was hoping more for something like the old Edge that sat like a 4x4 but was 2wd.

That's what I have. Edge Plus SuperCab. Love it. Love my 150's and 250's more tho.

Guy at work bought a 2016 duramax with body color bumper/grill. It doesnt look horrible, but still a bit bro-dozerish for my likeing. Even though the 3/4-1ton GMs, imo, have the superduty beat for interior and body looks, if only they'd bolt in a solid axle...

What is it with dod, err, ram trucks rusting? Seems they rust about as bad as an 80-96 ford. The older dodges though seemed to hold up decent. Out of every 10 rams i see from the past, 8 years or so 7 or 8 have rotted wheel arches and rear bumpers.

Can't stand the looks of a GM, disappointing how fast they still rust over the wheel wells. Not as bad as a Dodge but not much better than the 90's.

I think i like them cause you can still see the 90s in them.

Guessin thats what turns you off? Lol

Not much rust going on with any vehicles down here. Man I love the South !

Rust > Hurricanes

No hurricanes ever in my neck of the woods. Tropical depressions in late summer/fall, when we need the rain.

Skeeters half the year and winter the other half to keep the tourists from getting too cozy and sticking around. :icon_thumby:
