Fusion or Taurus?

So my parents are looking at a 08 fusion and a 07 taurus. anybody have any experience witht he Fusion? It has a 2.3 Duratec, 5 speed auto. rated at 28 Hwy. Taurus has a 3.0 Vulcan ax4n auto. rated at 27 Hwy.

I know which one I personally like better, but what do you all think?

My wife drives a 07 Fusion SEL V6 . We like it very much and have had zero problems with it. Gets decent mileage, 10L/ 100 km and lots of balls. Very comfortable, looks good.

Alot more room, alot more power, alot safer, and still returns 25MPG.

The new Taurus is a rebadged 500, which is about the same age as the Fusion.

See, I would say crown vic too, except that they are basically out of production for retail sales, and impossible to get ahold of (new anyways).

The Taurus is a 07. These are the last of the old style tauruses. In 07 They were only for sale as fleet vehicles. This one is one of the last 3000 built, and was a fleet vehicle.

I am trying to shy them away from the Fusion because of that damn duratec 30. Ever try to change out an alternator on one of them? I also am a vulcan lover.

No, the 500 is a new vehicle from the ground up and had NO relationship to the previous taurrus.

I think it was kinda dumb to not have called the 500 "Taurus" from the beginning.

I'd lean towards the taurus too, but I'd really lean more towards the '08 Taurus. 3.5 engine SIX speed auto, optional AWD...

I've heard the 4cyl fusion is "slow"

I took the taurus out today (my parents have it for the weekend). Anybody who says the Vulcan is a turd should try driving my 2.5 ranger.

Really nice car compared to what I am used to.

You can get a slighty used 06 Crown Vic for like 14K ......they have NO resale.
