just on a whim decided that me and the girl should go out and ride around in the trails. Figured id go try a trail or two i hadnt been on in a while that i knew would be good but then i saw a trail that had not been travled by me in a few years and went down that and thus began the adventure.
went down the old trail went really good til i hit the Alberta Clipper Pipeline. some of ya may know that its been recently worked on. well the grounds all soft wet sand and that to me spells doom. my tires dont do well in it and my hubs are hit and miss on being engaged.
once off the hard ground we hit a small hill that was all rutted up and lost momentum the rear tires dug in and spun. so with that i knew that i could not go forward so attempted to back out up the small grade to the hard ground and i just dug in again at the top so i backed as far back as i could gunned it and got on to some firmer sand to turn back and face the trail thus i was going back to the trailhead.
From there went to head across a small creek and go to an easy trail well in the dark i missed it so i backed up on the road and went past it....into a trail i had not been on in over 5 years.
we went down and it was seeming really like the trail i ment to be on so i kept going until................... Boom theres a dead tree in the way and i have no room to back out and my lights arnt bright enough to back out anyway. well now how am i gunna solve this???
with the branches all over i didnt wanna just go over it as the could poke stuff and break things and thats bad... so i decided hey il pull off the branches then go over
well get the olf cheepy tow strap out and then..crap i have no front hook points..... hmm il use my tie rod as it should hold..and now oddly after the truck rides better??? why is this?
well heres the vid of that stuff
the cam ran out of memery card so the rest wasn't filmed... good thing as i paniced for a time as the trail came to a fork and i was in my mind lost. i looked though then saw a snowmobile trail marker an it clicked: follow this i can get out! so i went down it then hey!!!! a road i know!!! i followed it then it lead me right to where i was when i started and back to home!
