Full Width SAS on '90 Danger the 4th

I will get you these numbers this weekend. My wife is going out of town for 3 days so I will have some free time lol. They are buried in this thread somewhere. I have wanted to clean this thread up anyways.

Also, I have been job hunting. I have had a few second interviews. I am hoping for an offer from one of them today. Looking at a nice pay increase and an 86% decrease in commute lol. Looking at saving $400+/mo just in fuel. That would also mean the dually would become a summer time DD :)
This will also allow the next rig build to move faster lol

Win, win, win, and win.

I know this really late, but I'm just now getting to doing my SAS project. I'm doing the same setup as you, but with a ford 9 from a 78 f-150. How far out did you have to space your front coil buckets on your ranger frame to match the axle's width?

Mine was different per side. I used stock 79 F150 coil buckets and spaced them out with c-channel. That is what I had sitting around. The drivers side needed 2 pieces of channel so it was about 3-3.25" off the frame. The passenger side needed one section, so it was about 1.5-1.75" from the frame. It was bulky and heavy, but it worked.

If I were ever to do it again, I would make my own coil buckets as needed instead of spacing OEM ones off the frame. Something similar to these but not adjustable:

Thank you. I just need something that works right now, so I'll probably try and go pick up some f150 buckets and do what you did.

Keep your coil buckets Ranger width and modify your lower seats to match. It will flex wayyy better and put less stress on the frame.

Yes, I did get the job. :D My last day here is Friday and I start the new one on Monday. The last 3 weeks have been rough. They are both fighting hard for me. I have never been in this situation. I am not one to brag, but I am looking at some large salary increases. Its crazy lol. But I think I am ultimately going to try the new job. I really have not decided yet. I need to leave this union shop. No offense to you union guys.
The new job is strictly design engineering in a completely different industry. I am leaving a project manager/engineer position. It will be a big change.

HAHA. I am engineer. I like to stay in my little box and work alone. Not used to this.

But yes, I was looking at a $7k raise. Now I am looking at 12k plus another week of vacation...

HAHA, yeah, not gonna lie, I do get along with the union guys better than the other engineers. My redneck/car side of me helps in that department. I just struggle with their work ethic. I am currently in the steel industry. Due dates are CRITICAL.

I told them I was a hands on guy and wont be able to work on a PC, 8+ hrs a day, over and over. I do like computers, but not that much. With the new job, I will be traveling around the lower 48, 3-5 days a month. The younger engineers say it works out well. Its a break that comes in at just the right time. We shall see.
