Full b2 build, 4.0, d35, 8.8.

thank you sir!

very interesting write up. i won't be following that exactly but similar.

how in the hell does the main plug come out of the explorer?

the white plug that all the wires go through from the engine bay to the dash? its on the firewall. i cant get the thing to unplug.. it unplugs right??

if i can get that outa there i can get started on swapping my new dash in!

If i remember right there's a 10mm bolt in the center of the big plug

sweet, i'll check it out. thanks.

hows your 4.0 swap coming? how far are you?

i'm almost done. but haven't been working on it much since i got employed. just shortened my front driveshaft today tho

Looks like you're doing a kick ass job :icon_thumby:

thanks! i just read your thread and i'd have to say the same!

basically the same set up. i almost got the dash out of the explorer.

how much of a pain was it to install the expo dash?

and did you need to cut your driveshaft because you swapped in the d35?

ya. that's why i shortened the driveshaft. the explorer dash wasn't hard at all. I just cut the entire mount off the firewall and bolted it in the BII. I didn't have access to a welder but bolting it down was fine. the dash makes everyting real nice and it all just plugs in for the most part. where in Washington are you?

awsome! thats what i like to hear! :yahoo:

i'm in snohomish.

how much did it run to get it shortened? cause ill be swapping mine in.

well today i got the dash out of the explorer, alot easier then the broncos metal dash. and put several hours labeling wiring on the motor. and i got the steering column and pedal mount swapped in from the expo.

i also found a small black box mounted to the right side brace of the steering column on the bronco. it has several wires leading out of it going turning into two plugs. on the box it says DO NOT DROP. i'm wondering what this is? i'll grab a picture of it tomorrow.

well i've gone tons of progress done in the past two days. i'm really pushing to have it done by tuesday so i can pick up my girlfriend at the airport and surprise her with the new truck running :D

anyways, i changed my mind about putting the explorer motor in the bronco. instead i changed all the good/new parts and rebuilt tranny from that onto the newer rebuilt 4.0 that was half in the bronco. i now will have the rebuilt motor and brand new rebuilt trans :icon_hornsup:

heres the pics;
