I got some rails off of a 5.0 ford pick up truck. The problem I have is that the fuel pressure regulator is also on the rear driver side, This prevents me from running my air intake on the passanger side! Does anybody know where I can get a set of fuel rails with feed and return on the rear driverside and pressure regulator on the passanger side? Or what are some other solutions folks have come up with?

i have one from an explorer where the regulator is on the pass side and the lines are in the back

I saw a set up like that on EBAY but the years were wrong, spent the morning at the junk yard but nothing there. What year are yours? The Ebay rails were a lot cheaper than a kit! The rails on EBAY are out of a 97-98 GT40 explorer but the seller said 5.0. I am not sure he knows what they are, maybe ment a 87-88?

Those on E-Bay are what you would want, same as picture above. You are doing the 302/5.0 swap aren't you? Seem pretty expensive to me but they do say they are new.

Regular (stock) Explorer fuel rails (Gt40 =5.0 ...) will not clear a distributor.

Those pictured appear to. Very cool.

Thanks for checking it out. I am doing the 5.0/302 conversion. Working on getting the wiring done and need to put the rails in. The explorer 5.0 seem to exit the junk yards in a hurry. A lot of empty engine bays! I went to the junk yard and could not find any, checked for the kits (way more expensive and don't think I can switch feed and return sides so $145 is what I got to pay. I am putting 24 lbs injectors in along with the E303 cam so may be I can get a price reduction. You look like you got a neat set up, good pictures. Thank you again..Dave B:yahoo:

the rails are for the explorer gt40 intake. i have a mustang fuel rail but it wouldnt fit right. this one there are no lines in front of the intake to hit the distributor. but i dont know exactly what year its for since i got it from someone on here when i asked the question what to do it was offered to me so i bought it.
heres another picture to show side clearance on the distributor since it was mentioned

Ya, I was wondering about the clearance issue so I looked at my 2000 Non-return style and looks about like the picture but only one connection at rear. Teddy, were there some that wrapped around the front?
Dave

My Explorer rails are '96, return style.

They stick out, where the dist goes.

I even had to grind my stock Mustang rails.

DJ- I was wondering if you could put a slight curse in the rail to clear the distributor, doesn't look like it would take much of a bend. Do the wires for the injectors just lay in the valley between the valve covers and intake or are there retainers for the injector harness?

i didnt have to do anything to the fuel rails to make everything fit. theres about 3/16 in between the dist and rail on the drivers side, but the latch that holds the cap on does hit the end of the rail, so i just turned it so it wont interfere. and the wiring is just laid in there.
